Following graduation Jeff served in Korea along the DMZ as an Infantry Officer with the famed First Calvary Division 1963-64.  After receiving an honorable discharge in 1964 he joined JGT Associates as a real estate broker and investor.  Over the years Jeff’s community service has included serving as Chairman of the Board – Raritan Bay Medical Center; President of the Central Jersey Jewish Home for the Aged; President of Hollywood Golf Club, Deal, NJ; and President of the Morris & Lydia Goldfarb Foundation.  Jeff is a retired member of the Board of Directors of the Provident Bank and Middlesex Water Company.  Jeff currently serves as Trustee of the Provident Bank Foundation; President of the Marion and Norman Tanzman Charitable Foundation; and oversees the Jeffries and Rona Shein Donor Advised Fund.

Jeff is the recipient of several awards including the Peace Medal of State of Israel Bonds, the Community Service Award from the Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey, as well as being named Woodbridge Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.  In 2013 New Jersey Institute of Disabilities (NJID) honored Jeff by naming its new Adult Training Center in Iselin, NJ the Jeffries Shein Building.

Jeff and Rona’s support of the American Cancer Society began in 1998, which was the first time they received the Excalibur Award, and their philanthropic dedication to finding a cure for cancer continued to grow from there.  Jeff and Rona are very honored to be this year’s recipients of the American Cancer Society’s Community Shining Star Award.

The Sheins have been married 51 years and have two wonderful daughters, Jennifer Turner (Dave), and Janice Bershad (Dr. Josh), and six grandchildren of whom they are very proud.
