Dear Friends and Diamond Ball Supporters,
In the interest of the health and safety of our supporters, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's 41st Annual Diamond Ball Gala, which was to be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021. We look forward to greeting you in person next year on November 20, 2022.
Today we have an enormous opportunity to end cancer, and the pain and suffering it causes. Thanks to the progress we’re making together, mortality rates from the disease have fallen 31 percent since 1991. That’s more than 3.2 million lives saved from cancer that would have otherwise been lost. While we’re making great progress, it’s going to take all of us, working together, to beat this disease. That’s why we do much more than breakthrough research. The American Cancer Society also offers free rides to treatment, a live 24/7 helpline and free lodging near hospitals. Your investment in the Society means we’re able to provide support to everyone impacted by cancer, in every community, from research to education, prevention to diagnosis, and treatment to recovery.
For forty years, supporters like you have come together at the Diamond Ball Gala and helped us achieve our fundraising goals. Every dollar donated has helped cancer patients in some way: $400 to attend the gala, a sponsored table for $4,000, raffle tickets for $100 or a balloon purchased at the auction for $1,000.
For now, we ask that you please continue to support our mission by following the donate link below and making a donation today.
Thank you so much for your continued support, as we need it now more than ever. Cancer has not stopped, and neither will we.
For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
